Who We Are
Here at Stepping Up for Children in Need, we are driven by a single goal; to level the playing field for children, so that all may have the chance to become superstars and the architects of their own futures. We're raising funds and promoting initiatives to equip children with the skills they need to be successful, now and in the future. We strive to empower children by training them how to cope, learn and thrive. Please join us by supporting our efforts to make a measurable difference in the lives of those who need it most.
The Annette Foundation, Inc.
We've developed two main areas through which we intend to support children and parents in need. Our core programs aim to train, educate and inform. Our initiatives are designed to serve large populations in the form of development, education and welfare Annette's story in our blog below.
We team up with City Year by designing mentorship training and development programs for their AmeriCorps in-school mentors. We equip these student ambassadors with the science, strategy, skills, and tools they need to help kids in need become self-soothing, self-regulating, inspired students.
The Stepping Up for Children in Need blog provides a vast variety of topics written by an interdisciplinary team of experts in the fields of medicine, social & legal welfare, mental health, community resources, education, and learning & development. The blog's purpose is to support The Annette Foundation's mission of leveling the playing field, one child at a time. Every month, a relevant topic will be explored by our team of experts, each providing insight from her unique area of study and expertise. We'll also present thinking from guest bloggers, board members, volunteers, and contributors who will filter vast amounts of science, research, and bureaucracy, with skills, tools, and actionable direction.
Reaching far and wide
We are finding ways to extend our reach beyond workshops and schools so that we can step up for more children in need. Our initiatives aim to develop learning & life skills, along with mental, physical, and social wellbeing.
